Running on Empty: The decline of California’s oil and gas industry and the true cost and scale of decommissioning

This study confirms prior findings that California’s oil and gas industry still cannot fund its own decommissioning. And when understanding the causes of decline for state’s upstream and downstream oil and gas sectors, it’s clear that geology, and not regulations, have driven production declines in California and across the US.
