Rob Schuwerk, Head of Research

Rob Schuwerk is Head of Research at Redwater Insights, the research arm of the Polluter Pays Project.  He led Carbon Tracker Initiative's presence in the United States for a decade, and before that he was a litigator for the New York State Office of the Attorney General and a securities litigator with Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison. He has been focused on the legal, financial, regulatory and accounting dimensions of asset retirement obligations for the past six years. 

Daylon Howell, Data and Analytics Lead

Daylon Howell is the Data and Analytics Lead at Redwater Insights. He is a data science and reporting specialist with a background in sustainability and experience in the public and non-profit sectors. Prior to joining Redwater, he worked for Carbon Tracker Initiative as an analyst. His past work includes research and reporting roles for state and local government agencies in Texas, with a focus on water resource management and natural disaster resilience.

Nina Regmi, Senior Analyst

Nina Regmi is a Senior Analyst at Redwater Insights. Before joining Redwater in 2025, she managed projects at Carbon Tracker Initiative, focusing on Asset Retirement Obligations and the Global Registry. Nina’s background spans chemical manufacturing and research, hazardous waste oversight, and data systems—experience that fuels her commitment to environmental responsibility and corporate accountability.

Sophie Marjanac, Deputy Director and Director of Legal Strategy

Sophie has over a decade of experience as an environmental and climate change lawyer with specialist expertise in the management of climate and environmental risk by companies and financial institutions. She practiced in corporate environmental and planning law in Australia where she acted for clients across the mining and minerals, energy and transport sectors. She has worked in the not-for-profit sector since 2015 and most recently led ClientEarth’s corporate accountability team. During her time at ClientEarth, she led a path-breaking human rights case on behalf of Indigenous Torres Strait Islanders against Australia, several cases against companies for greenwashing, and a world-first claim against the Board of Directors of Shell plc. She is recognised as a global expert in climate change law and litigation and has regularly commented and written in range of leading publications and forums. Sophie is an Australian-qualified lawyer (State of Victoria) and obtained a Bachelor of Law (first class honors) and Bachelor of International Studies (with distinction) from the University of NSW in 2009.

Olivia Lunn, Legal and Financial Researcher

Olivia carries out legal and financial research and analysis on oil & gas companies’ decommissioning liabilities. Prior to joining the PPP, Olivia qualified as a lawyer at global law firm K&L Gates LLP, where she worked as an energy disputes associate. Olivia undertook complex analysis and research into company group structures, pricing mechanisms and construction projects and advised clients in the oil & gas and renewables industries, in relation to international construction, trade and regulatory disputes and transactions. Whilst at K&L, Olivia was on the editorial board for the firm’s Carbon Quarterly publication. Olivia is on the Stewardship Committee of Legal Voices for the Future, a learning forum and community for early career practitioners working in and around the environmental polycrisis. Olivia obtained a first-class degree in English Literature from UCL, a Distinction in both the GDL and the LPC from the University of Law and is an English qualified lawyer. Olivia is completing an LLM in Environmental Law and Policy at UCL and participated in ClientEarth's Law, Finance and Systems Change Clinic in 2024-25.
